AIKO MIYANAGA
Special Exhibition

waiting for awakening -chair-

Special cooperation: Mizuma Art Gallery

At KOCHI|東風, we are pleased to present Aiko Miyanaga’s waiting for awakening -chair- at Salon KOCHI.

Aiko Miyanaga has worked with materials that change over time, including naphthalene, resin, glass, salt and leaf veins, exploring the theme of continuing to exist while changing.

Quietly drawing out traces and memories hidden in everyday life, and changes that often go unnoticed, Miyanaga crystallizes them into delicate forms. Her work invites us to sense the passage of time beyond visible form.

Shaped like the familiar object of a chair, waiting for awakening -chair- uses naphthalene, a material that changes over time, to quietly reflect the space between presence and absence, memory and time.

This is not a public exhibition. It is held by advance reservation only for invited guests of Salon KOCHI.

Please take time to encounter the work in a quiet setting.
